Welcome to our Foreclosure Paradise!

So the bank accepted our offer!

We have been driving through a particular neighborhood with some regularity for the past 4 years. We love it. The homes are nice,well-maintained, beautifully landscaped, and have large lots. Most houses have swimming pools.

In June 2010, we drove through the neighborhood and saw a house that was an obvious foreclosure. Weeds, not much grass, a pool that looked like pea soup... you get the picture. We called the "for sale" sign's agent, and found the house to be reasonably priced.

We looked at the house, loved it, and put in a lowball offer. The bank countered with their full asking price. Dejected, we went on vacation for a week.

When we came back, we let another week go by and tried again. We were pretty surpised and disheartened to learn that in our absence another offer had been made, which the bank countered (close to the price where we'd hoped to buy it at), but the buyers had walked away. We made a 2nd offer, negotiated a little, and settled on a great price.

The home inspection is set for 8 days from now! Here are some photos of where we are at ground zero of Foreclosure Paradise.
